Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.

Celebrating and inspiring

women playwrights,

The Women’s Prize for Playwriting was founded in 2019 by a group of people passionate about celebrating and supporting plays written by women, and dedicated to increasing the number of these plays being presented on major stages in the UK and Ireland.

The Women’s Prize for Playwriting is co-produced by EKP (Ellie Keel Productions) and Paines Plough.

The first prize will be £12,000 offered in respect of an exclusive option for EKP and Paines Plough to produce the winning play (the option is valid for 12 months). Other awards will be announced in due course.
